Roots & Remembrance
My journey into the magic of herbs began in the fragrant Mediterranean garden of my grandmother and my aunt Radojka in Primošten — a coastal village rich in plant wisdom and ancient rhythms.
I remember a courtyard filled with immortelle, lavender, rosemary, tomato sauce simmering, ripe figs, and grapes — depending on the season. Everything was cleaned, sorted, and prepared with meticulous care. Nothing wasted. Every part used.
My grandmother distilled herbs, made soaps and elixirs, and always had a remedy for what hurt — in the body or in the spirit. Those early lessons weren’t just about plants. They were teachings on timing, listening, and honouring the quiet strength of the natural world.
Initiation Through Burnout
Working across culture and tourism taught me a lot — and it also pushed me through three episodes of burnout. The third one was the turning point. I made a vow: the old way ends here.
I returned to what I knew in my bones: plants, seasons, and simple rituals. From there, symbols started connecting. Astrology and tarot resurfaced — echoes of childhood teachings that lived inside me, waiting.
I began documenting what genuinely helped me heal — and my intention clarified: to share what works, and to support others in their own transformation, without performance and without pressure.
Who is that Island Forest Witch?
My path expanded into art, ecology, and cultural initiatives — collectives, long trails, and the inner voice that guided me, softly at times, fiercely at others. Eventually, it led me to Silba: a quiet, car-free island in the Adriatic.
Locals began calling me “the forest witch” — for how I live close to the woods, harvest by cycles, speak to plants, and light candles for the moon. At first I smiled. Then I understood: it wasn’t a joke. It was a role. A calling.
What started as personal remedies and gifts became a full practice: intuitive ritual boxes, astrological blends, soundscapes from Silba’s landscape, and botanical balms as an art form. Over time, my training in organic medicinal herbs, therapeutic horticulture, and feminine healing wove into what is now Magia Botanica.
